  • 1lb sweet potatoesbaked and peeled, about 2 cups mashed
  • 1/4cup buttersoftened
  • 14oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1tsp orange peelzested
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggsbeaten
  • 1/4tsp kosher salt
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 unbaked pie shell9-inch deep-dish
  • whipped creamoptional for garnish
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Use an electric mixer and beat the mashed sweet potatoes and butter in a medium-size bowl until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk, orange zest, cinnamon, nutmeg, eggs, salt, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Pour the sweet potato mixture into the pie crust. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pie has set.
  5. Cool and serve. Garnish with whipped cream if desired.
