Strawberry Trifle Dessert

Strawberry Trifle with fresh, luscious strawberries, billowy whipped cream, and heavenly angel food cake is easy, elegant, and delicious!

Here's what you will need: Fresh strawberries Sugar Lemon juice Lemon zest Kosher salt Grand Marnier Angel Food Cake Heavy whipping cream

Step 1: Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries. 

Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the strawberry slices, one cup of sugar, lemon zest and juice, and a pinch of salt. Combine and let sit for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Pour the cream into a chilled bowl and add 1/4 cup of sugar. Beat with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Set aside. 

Step 4: To assemble the trifle, place one layer of torn angel food cake pieces in the bottom of a large trifle bowl.

Step 5: Spoon 1/3 of the strawberry mixture over the angel food cake.

Step 6: Top the strawberries with 1/3 of the whipped cream.

Step 7: Repeat the layers two more times and finish with a layer of whipped cream.

Tips: You can substitute frozen strawberries for fresh. In a pinch, you can substitute frozen whipped topping for the whipped cream. Use parfait glasses or mason jars to make individual desserts.
