17.5ozcan refrigerated cinnamon rollsI used Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls
1cupchopped apples from the pie filling
½cupchopped walnuts
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Use a pastry brush and coat a 9-inch square baking dish with the melted butter. Add the cinnamon rolls to the baking dish.
Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven, spoon the chopped apples over the cinnamon rolls, and sprinkle the chopped walnuts evenly over the top.
Bake for an additional 7 minutes. Remove from the oven. Allow the cinnamon rolls to cool for 10 minutes.
In a small bowl, microwave the reserved icing uncovered on high for 5 to 10 seconds, stirring until thin enough to drizzle. Drizzle the icing over the top of the baked rolls.
Serve warm.
Notes
Preheat fully: Make sure the oven is hot before baking so the rolls cook evenly and develop a golden crust.
Don’t overload with apples: Stick to about 1 cup of pie filling to prevent soggy rolls.
Warm the icing: Microwave for 5–10 seconds to make it easier to drizzle over the baked rolls.
Serve warm: These rolls taste best fresh out of the oven.
Add extra flair: Top with caramel sauce or toasted nuts for extra fall flavor.
Single-serve option: Bake in a muffin tin for individual portions that are easy to serve.
