Why I love this recipe (and you will, too!)

    • Crispy, Juicy, and Flavor-Packed: The magic of the air fryer locks in moisture while crisping up the panko and Parmesan coating beautifully.
    • Quick and Easy: No need to babysit the stove—just pop them in the air fryer and let it do the work.
    • Perfect for Any Occasion: Whether it’s a busy Tuesday night or a special weekend dinner, these pork chops feel fancy but are super simple to make.

    Ingredient notes and substitutions

This recipe keeps things simple while delivering incredible flavor. Here’s what you need:

Pork chops on a white plate, bread crumbs, and Parmesan cheese in bowlss along with olive oil and dijon mustard.
    • Bone-In Pork Chops: I recommend ½-inch thick chops for the best balance of tenderness and crispiness. If using boneless, reduce the cook time slightly.
    • Dijon Mustard: Adds a tangy depth of flavor and helps the coating stick. Swap for yellow mustard if needed, but Dijon really shines here.
    • Panko Breadcrumbs: These create the ultimate crispy crust. Regular breadcrumbs work in a pinch, but they won’t be as crunchy.
    • Parmesan Cheese: Freshly grated is best for maximum flavor and texture.
    • Seasonings: A blend of garlic powder, paprika, dried oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper brings the perfect balance of savory and herby goodness.

Want to mix it up? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for heat or some lemon zest for a fresh, citrusy twist.

A complete list of all of the ingredients and their measurements is available below in the recipe card.

How to make Air Fryer Bone-In Pork Chops

Follow these simple steps for crispy, golden pork chops every time:

    1. Prep the pork chops: Dab them dry with paper towels—this helps the coating stick better. Make the coating: Whisk together olive oil and Dijon mustard in a small bowl until smooth.
    2. Coat the chops: Brush each pork chop with the Dijon mixture.

    1. Make the breadcrumb coating: Combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan, and seasonings in a separate shallow dish. Press the chops into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated.
    2. Preheat the air fryer and air fry the pork chops: Set it to 375°F and spray the basket with cooking spray. Arrange the pork chops in a single layer, leaving space between them. Spray the tops with cooking spray and cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway.

    1. Check for doneness: Pork chops are ready when they reach an internal temperature of 145°F. Let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.

    Serving and menu suggestions

These pork chops pair beautifully with a variety of sides. Try them with:

    • Parmesan Potatoes Au Gratin for a cozy comfort meal
    • Roasted Broccoli and Carrots for a lighter option
    • Classic Southern Cornbread for that down-home touch
    • Crisp American Coleslaw to balance the richness with a little tang

For a full meal, serve my simple House Salad with a side of Green Beans and Potatoes—heaven on a plate!

    Recipe variations

    • Make it Spicy: Add a quarter of a teaspoon of cayenne to the breadcrumb mixture.
    • Try a Different Cheese: Swap Parmesan for Asiago or Pecorino for a bolder flavor.
    • Go Fresh: Use fresh oregano and thyme instead of dried for a more vibrant herb flavor.
    • No Air Fryer? Bake at 400°F for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway.

How to store and reheat leftovers

Got leftovers? Here’s how to keep them tasting fresh:

    • Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
    • Reheat in the Air Fryer: Heat at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to crisp them back up.
    • Microwave Option: While not as crispy, a quick zap will do—heat in 30-second bursts.

Pro tip: Avoid reheating in the oven for too long or they’ll dry out. The air fryer keeps them the crispiest!

    Recipe FAQs

Can I use boneless pork chops instead of bone-in?

Yes! Just reduce the cooking time by a couple of minutes, as boneless chops cook faster.

What’s the best way to ensure my pork chops stay juicy?

Make sure they’re not too thin (½ inch is ideal) and don’t overcook—use a meat thermometer to check for 145°F.

Can I freeze cooked pork chops?

Yes! Wrap them individually in foil, place them in a freezer bag, and freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes.

Top tips to ensure this recipe turns out perfectly

    • Preheat your air fryer! It helps the chops cook evenly and crisps up the coating beautifully.
    • Don’t overcrowd the basket. Air circulation is key for that perfect crisp—cook in batches if needed.
    • Use a meat thermometer. It’s the best way to avoid dry pork chops—pull them out as soon as they hit 145°F.
