    Classic Mimosas with a Twist

Classic Mimosas with a Twist is one beverage that comes to mind when I think of an elegant and festive breakfast or brunch.  These citrusy cocktails are light and delicious and will be the highlight for any special occasion!

Two champagne glasses with orange juice and champagne.

Classic Mimosas are nothing more than orange juice and champagne. The twist with this mimosa recipe is the addition of a splash of Cointreau or another orange-flavored liqueur.

These sparkling drinks would also be delicious at any special breakfast or brunch, lazy Saturday or Sunday breakfasts, at bridesmaid luncheons, bridge club meetings, book club meetings, well, you get the idea! And, the best part is you won’t believe how quick and easy these light and refreshing cocktails are to make!

    Here is what you need:

To make this fun cocktail, you will need champagne, orange juice, and Cointreau or another orange-flavored liqueur. Also, mimosas are usually served in champagne flutes.

A bottle of champagne, Cointreau and orange slices.

    Here’s how to make them:

To make these mimosas, simply pour the orange juice into a champagne flute. Top the orange juice with champagne and add the Cointreau.

Two champagne glasses full of mimosas.

    Serve immediately.

    What to serve with them:

If you are wondering what to serve with your cocktails, the following recipes would be perfect: Eggs Benedict Breakfast Casserole, Oven Bakes Caramel French Toast,  Cornmeal Biscuits with Orange Butter, Southern Cheese Grits Casserole, Foolproof Eggs Benedict, or Butterscotch Pecan Coffee Cake.

Need even more ideas, check out this roundup of easy recipes: 32 Mother’s Day Breakfast and Brunch Recipes or you can find all of my breakfast and brunch recipes here.

    Variations:

A classic mimosa always includes orange juice, but if you want something different, try substituting apple cider, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, pineapple juice, peach nectar, grapefruit, or raspberry juice. You can also substitute prosecco for the champagne.

How to make a virgin mimosa:

If you would like to make virgin mimosas, you can replace the champagne with Sprite, ginger ale, sparkling white grape juice, or Seven-up and leave out the Cointreau.
